March and early April

I hope that everyone has enjoyed their spring break.  I have had a very nice stay-cation... lots of baseball games, some local trips, reading, spring cleaning and gardening.
I went into the classroom for a bit yesterday to prepare for next week and it was weird... seems so long since we've been there.  I am ready to see all "my kids!"

Enjoy all these pictures from the past six or seven weeks.  Things are really going to get going once we return to school next week!

Shoe-tying Kinders!

I made a cameo in a Lit Center activity ;)

as did my daughter, Isabelle.

Mrs. R came for another lesson.

Theses Kinders have done a terrific job with identifying and sorting NOUNS :)

To celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday, we made hot air balloons with plans for the future!

Our directed-drawing Can in the Hats :)

We made leprechauns

We also worked on TRAPS to catch a leprechaun!

Math story problems

The HUGE rainbow and pot of gold that we hope will lure the leprechaun into our classroom ;)

Completed traps!

Mrs. de la Vega came to work with us on our scissor grip.

We made shamrocks with our third grade buddies... how we are LUCKY!

Beautiful artwork hanging in the Art Room hallway :)

We visited the Maryland Agricultural "Bus" twice for two great lessons with Mrs. Fox.

Literacy Centers

Since we had the highest number of Soarding with Pride stickers in Kindergarten, Mrs. James surprised the kids with a "snowball fight."

Sometimes I feel like a Cruise Director ;)
I taught the kids how to play tic-tac-toe and then we got down to business with some cut-throat strategy!

We have been practicing writing questions and answering questions.
I just HAD to put this one on Twitter ;)

Some unexpected time on the "big" playground

We visited the Science Fair and are lucky to have two entrants right in our class!

This is our second lesson with Mrs. Fox.

 A little recess tic-tac-toe tourney!

In Math, we began practicing using a number line as a tool in addition and subtraction processes.

End of the day competition ;)

DONUTS WITH DADS

It was so wonderful to have so many parents join us in our classroom.  Thank you!

Practicing that qu combination.

Mrs. Fike came to see us and we talked about being a kind and caring friend.

We used magnifying glasses to search for TINY addition and subtraction problems :)

We played a matching game in Phonics to practice the use of the finaldigraph -ck

Oh my word did we have fun with the word find of our NAMES!  :)

I was so proud of these Kinders... they were such polite and attentive audience members.
