May (part 1)

This rain is really getting to me so I am going to post some pictures from this month to share with you all.  Friday was our 160th Day of Kindergarten!  How is this happening???   These kiddos are practically FIRST GRADERS!  I'm getting teary...

Mrs. R came for a lesson and we tried our hardest to fill in a pattern using Cuisenaire rods.  After a lot of perseverance, and a few clues, they all got it!

I hope that you enjoyed your Mother's Day books.... we read and studied Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the kids worked for two weeks on writing and illustrating their own versions to give to their moms :)

Math Rotations... these are some very clever mathematicians!

Tasting strawberries the day before our field trip to Butler's Orchard.  We actually did complete observations during Science time using our five senses.

A very WET trip to Butler's Orchard :)

When we got back to school, our PROMETHEAN BOARD had been installed!  So exciting!  The kids and I had a blast using it that afternoon... and we use it all day, every day ever since.

Science time... here the kids are writing their observations about their plants' growth.

Literacy Centers

Math Rotations

Science... reading and sharing what we learned about insects.

More math rotations.... I leave a word problem on the ipad for the kids and then they make one for me to solve!  ;)

Spring Chorus Concert :)

This was just last week, Thursday I believe.  I have been assessing reading levels all week and had distributed their books to them.  Once I finished, I saw this.  LOVE THESE READERS!

Thank goodness for an outside recess!

For earning the most Soaring with Pride stickers in all of Kindergarten, we participated in a Dance Party with the winners from grades 1 - 5.  It was so much fun :)

And finally, for part 1 of May, I couldn't resist these two photo opportunities.

Stay dry!
