March 2016

It's April!  We had an uneventful April Fool's Day, thank goodness.  St. Patrick's Day wore me out ;)  The kids have enjoyed so many activities this past month and I feel as though April will be even busier.  Here is a peak at our days during March... warning, you will be going back in time.  I loaded them backwards somehow and then just could not bear to re-arrange them all.

Phonics BINGO!

Write-the-Room Rhyming Words edition... they never get tired of this activity.  The pressure is high these days for me to find spots for the cards... we've used every available spot!

SMASH IT! subtraction.  The kids couldn't believe it when I demonstrated smashing play-dough balls to subtract them ;)

Easter Bunnies

We broke out magnifying glasses to do some egg-addition just before Spring Break.

We wrote another classroom book about The Old Lady Who Swallowed a .... series and shared them with one another.

Even though we tried to TRAP the leprechaun, he left everyone a gold coin :)

He also shrunk the cups that we had made for ourselves to use at snack time!

Thank you to everyone who came to the staff basketball game.  I had a lot of fun!

(this is my ONE and ONLY basket!)

Mrs. Fike came to do a social skills lesson with us.

The day before St. Patrick's Day, we worked hard to create an inviting space for the leprechaun.
#teamwork

What if we actually caught him???

Addition stories!

Creating and building addition problems

More practice with addends and sums.

We enjoyed a listening to a research presentation about deer.

If you read a book about spinning tops, then you have just got to practice spinning actual tops!  :)

Celebrating Dr. Seuss

We really enjoyed watching polar bears all the way in San Diego while researching and writing about them.

Research... sorry... not sure how to flip this one over!  ;)

Phonics Bingo early in the month.

Morning time

Thank goodness for outside recess after all that SNOW!
