We have had a wonderful start to October. The Kinders are now into their third round of Math Rotations and their second round of Literacy Centers. I am teaching small groups and hope that all of you are enjoying listening to your READERS each afternoon. They are SO PROUD of themselves... and I am so grateful to be a witness to this amazing progress in each of them. Guided Reading Groups is honestly one of the top highlights of my day :)
I have a ton of pictures on my phone already so I thought I'd share the first two weeks with you now as we have an action-packed rest of October and so I'm sure that I'll have a full post come the first of November. Enjoy!
These are our Rainbow Fish from Social Studies last week.
Above them are the self-portraits we made after reading A, My Name is Alice and worked on alliteration.
Practicing our new sight word... like!
Quiet reading time.
We had our first write-the-room activity and the Kinders LOVED it! Good thing because I have many, many more in store this year.
Our field trip to the UVFD was a success. Thank you to our chaperones :)
Demonstrating Stop, Drop and Roll!
Touring the sleeping quarters.
Here is my great yard sale find from a few years ago! :)
Thank you to Mrs. A! We are really enjoying the rice in the sand table during Application Centers.
Some October-themed Math Rotations.
Friday was our dear Miss Madison's 18th birthday!
I met the kids in the cafeteria and gave them each a flower to give her along with the cards that we made. Everyone was very excited to surprise her :)
We love Miss Madison!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
